Through Nov. 28, the Bears were No. 3 in the league in scoring average (78.6 points per game). Last year, Central Arkansas ranked dead last in the Southland Conference in both field goal percentage (41.6) and defensive field goal percentage (48.4). The result was a 5-24 record with a 1-15 mark in league play.
Through its first five games of this season, the Bears ranked No. 2 in the league in field goal percentage (46.3) as of Nov. 28. Unfortunately the defense hadn't shared the same improvement as the Bears were allowing teams to shoot 49.1 percent from the floor. Still, the Bears were looking like an improved bunch going 2-3 in that span.
--Southeast Missouri State transfer LaQuentin Miles has been a big time addition to the Bears roster. He led the team in scoring with three-consecutive 20-plus point gams from Nov. 16 through Nov. 26 as UCA went 2-1 in that span.
Miles, a 6-5 swingman, led the Southland Conference in scoring average (18.8 points per game) as of Nov. 28.
--UCA missed 70 free throws in its first 5 games this season. Its 76-of-146 free throw shooting through Nov. 28 gave the team a league-worst 52.1 percent free throw shooting clip.
