Have met half the team and they seem on target and high level of enthusiasm.......
Got to work on Greeks, res halls and central Arkansas alumni.........
As to media, I have heard Rainwater say several times they are a "caller driven" show and will talk about the sports the callers call about.....although I doubt Schaeffer could talk 10 seconds about any other university team in the state.....Randy can and does high a school pretty well...........however, I have only heard a very small number of people call in about UCA or A-State........maybe we need a crew who calls in every week .................
AD budget is tight because money is tight on campus still (don't expect much relief from the Ledge) ......we need to grow undergrad enrollment as the marginal revenue generated is much needed everywhere......selling more football tickets is best we can do to help AD revenues...........
Let's help these young folks out as they go about their work...........
PS - All in favor of inviting high school marching bands to perform but it needs to be pregame and not interfere with normal pregame show then involve them at half time without cutting BMB show and dance team..............we have a terrific marching band (I'll put them up against any bigger school in the region as to sound and showmanship and the new unis are unique......).......band parents and grandparents are usually good ticket buyers....hope you get to the 5th Quarter Show sometime ...........
Drive time is a caller driven show, but it is designed to promote only pig fans
to participate. Everything they do is about the pigs.
Channel 4 is a pigs only station
Channel 7 gave UCA a little coverage while Sully was doing play by play...but
not anymore.
Not sure channel 11 gives a crap either.
The ADG is 99% pigs...they will give us a token one paragraph write up on the
back page from time to time. Wally Hall is a horrid Sports Editor. Can't be
objective about anything...piggies never lose...they always get cheated.
The BEARS only voice is Justin Acri on "The Zone" from 10am -1pm on
103.7 The Buzz. We need to as a group to start calling him and talk up
the BEARS on his show. I think he has done a great job in support of UCA.
