Without a doubt the longest game I've ever seen in person. Two lightning delays...
the first of which was probably 1-1/2 hours or so. The lightning never seemed to
threaten the stadium but was in abundance off to the SE. There were about 12
or so young kids on the field playing football during the delay but nobody seemed
to care if they were in danger or not...hard to understand that mentality.
Bears score on the first play from scrimmage...move the ball at will but stall out
3 times in the red zone and get 3 points out of it.
Leading 10-3 and NWS puts together their best drive of the night and tie it at 10.
Then the Bears come out of hibernation and score 14 before half to make it 24-10.
Second lightning delay ....Bears score 31-10 hold the Deamons and then the fake
punt which was very well executed by the way cuts it to 31-17.
Then the Oline starts controlling the line of scrimmage and Carlos Blackmon starts
rumbling off 10 yard runs in succession and the Bear defense goes into attack mode
and this one is history. 45-17
Great road win with all the distractions.
Bears 6-1, 5-0

If you have never been there...Natchitoches is a great town. Oldest town
in Louisiana 1714. Over 300 years old. Downtown is really nice along the
river. And the shrimp and grits are my favorite.
