Ok let's get it started...Bears will need a complete game this week to
handle the lions at Hammond. Saw some good things from the young
guys vs. HBU but that is probably the worst team I've ever seen at Estes
Stadium.

One thing for sure IMO is that mr. Thomas needs to get at least 20 touches
next week. And the defense will need a great gameplan vs another dual
threat QB who always cause problems.

It's a long bus ride to south La. This game will be a good measuring
stick on this Bear football team.

This is a HUGE game! I wish it were in Conway, but we will have to prove our worth on the road. Like you said, this will be a huge measuring stick for this team.

Everyone so far has moved the ball on SELA. Can't imagine that we won't. Bennett running wild though and we know what running qb's do to us. Let's man up .Wish it was an espn 3 pick-up. Any hope?

worst team ever at Estes? maybe. but this is hard to believe..........HBU won a game a month ago 72-6 Does that mean that we would beat Texas College 136-0 ?

At Montana State QB Dakota Prukop had 108 rushing and 289 passing
for a total of 397.

On the stripes vs. Missouri State Kierra Harris had 60 rushing and 342
passing for a total of 402.

These two dual threat guys gave the UCA defense a lot of trouble. Brian
Bennett of SELA pretty much ran wild in Conway last year.. Let's hope
our Defensive coordinator has a solid sound plan to try and slow this guy
a little.

One good omen...the next opponent is not a MSU.

I hope we to stop their running game, contain Bennett and make him beat us with his arm. Run our offense & just be who we are. Have a good feeling about this game. This will be our first complete game win & Bears will be happy. Our OLB's will have a good game. Drinking the purple kool aid baby, go bears!

To see what we are up against with Bennett anyone who was at the game last year knows we rarely put a hand on him...... it was a pretty awesome show by the Lions QB......

This year he is averaging 4.9+ per rush (87/432) with 9 TDs running.....arguably his best game running was last week vs Lamar with 17/125 but also good efforts vs Incarnate Word (14/89) and Jacksonville (7/93).....however, Northwestern Sate held him to 11/47, SEMO held him to 7/18 and Tulane actually held him to minus 10 on 13 carries.....I think I know which game films were studied closely....

Bennett is not the only part of the rushing game.....they have three others with more than 200 yards each including Kody Sutton at 71/315/4.4.....plus six who avg 4.5+....the Lions rush for 243 per game on avg and 5.1 per rush.....pretty salty...but Northwestern held them to 40/132 while Lamar surrendered 484 yards running!!!!

Passing game is not quite as impressive as they complete only 52% but avg about 16 per catch and 213 per game.....Bennett is almost all of that with 10 TDs but 7 INTs.....Devont Scott avgs 80 yards in receptions per game for a 21 per catch avg....a bunch of others avg >10 yards er catch....

Punt returns is not their forte but KO returns with Xavier Roberson is 33+ per return......the FG kicker is 11-12 with 2 > 50.....

There is certainly reason to be optimistic......Lions lost at Tulane (20-35) and at SE Missouri (23-24) and narrowly defeated Northwestern State (30-22) in Hammond.....

Now think about this...in the Sagarin rankings Tulane is #139, SEMO is #171, Northwestern State is #137 and..........UCA is #132.....Sagarin gives SELA a 9 point advantage...that is 1-2 plays......the defense can make the difference and they may just be ready to do that..... Go Bears!!

For those that didn't keep up, the SLU/Lamar game was really close (34-27) until the end of the 3rd quarter.

Unfortunately, I don't think so, but according to this they should be streaming the game. Probably will cost though.

No TV for this game though as you mentioned, will be live streamed for a fee through lionsports.net.

If any of you guys are planning to make the trip to Hammond, the weather and tailgate atmosphere should be outstanding ... looking forward to a good, clean, hard-fought game.
